Our Story

The elements common to all crisis is the breaking of bonds. In crisis, humans are:

Survival: Our survival instincts of fight-flight-fawn are instantly transforming us. These changes help us to survive in the minutes and hours immediately following the crisis; however, we depend on things for survival, such as isolation, hypervigilence, and focus, with increased adrenaline and heart rate, which can have debilitating effects if they persist for too long.

Protect: Crisis Response K9's are trained to gently and safely break through the barriers of isolation caused by crisis, allowing the victims/survivors to re-connect to their families, friends, school mates, church fellowship, and other cherished emotional supports.

In the presence of a Crisis Response K9, the victim/survivor experiencing crisis instinctively begins to feel safer and protected, diminishing the need for fight-flight-fawn.

No Charge: Muppet's services are always provided at no cost, Crisis Response K9 collaborates with all first responders, including police, fire departments, medical professionals, community organizations, schools, NGOs, and counselors who are already delivering essential services and humanitarian assistance in our communities.

These organizations can reach out to muppet for help with children or families facing overwhelming crisis. After a crisis, The Mighty Muppet may be called upon to offer respite, stress management, and support during critical incident debriefings for our first responders.

Evidence based: The methods used by Crisis Response K-9's are evidence-based and developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
